from Venezuelan leader: 'Capitalism needs to go down'
"It's impossible that capitalism can regulate the monster that is the world financial system, it's impossible," Chavez said. "Capitalism needs to go down. It has to end. And we must take a transitional road to a new model that we call socialism."

Chavez showed his true colors by bleeding when FARC was scratched a while back: he's a Synarchist supporter of narco-terrorism, and a demagogue.
In fact, the current system is a combination of "capitalism" (i.e. "free trade," or the "every man for himself" form of central-bank controlled economy, in which the bankers and their buddies get huge bonuses for destroying the economy, and the masses get the shaft), combined with "socialism" (charity). What we really need is basically simple: to produce what we need for the common good, and to arrange the economic/financial system around this principle. This is known as the American System, which Chavez' masters did their best to bury, and which LaRouche unearthed. What Chavez is recommending is just a different mask on banker-imposed misery, in which there would be the same lack of production for the common good.
