The Senate's latest bubble-blowjob

WASHINGTON — The Senate handed a victory to the banking industry on Thursday, defeating a Democratic proposal that would have given homeowners in financial trouble greater flexibility to renegotiate the terms of their mortgages.

The Senators who voted for this should now have the guts to personally go out and drag some of their constituents and their children from their homes, trash the homes, and replace the former occupants with someone the bankers like more, and who will pay far less.  That's the effect this will have.  By trying to keep the almighty bubble inflated even as the real economy collapses, the Senate is causing homelessness, destroying lives, and violating their oaths of office.
