Wise man Cheney "sets the record straight"

"I know specifically of reports that I read, that I saw, that lay out what we learned through the interrogation process and what the consequences were for the country," Cheney said.

Cheney: US gained information from interrogations

This is like those periodic Establishment "findings," based on wildly inaccurate "studies," that nutritional substances are useless, despite decades of research to the contrary. It's the big lie technique of manufacturing "truth" by repeating lies, or in this case implying lies. (Also note the old trick of citing neo-con-eyes-only intelligence.) The fact is that "coercive interrogation" has been proven to be worse than useless for gathering good information, especially if you use it on people who couldn't possibly know anything useful, regardless of how many times the creature most culpable for these war crimes assures us that it's effective.
