Establishment "economists" lulling us into a sense of security

The economy lost fewer jobs than expected in February, the government reported Friday, bolstering hopes that a still-sputtering recovery was beginning to gain momentum.

So, despite the fact that the government is doing everything wrong, such as standing by and watching Haitians die, shelling out trillions in exchange for worthless paper, plowing hundreds of billions into a perpetual "war," and cutting payments to the real economy (such as NASA), we're supposed to believe that it's producing good results on the basis of rigged numbers which even the "economists" who might have rigged them claim not to have expected. This is yet another example of how stupid the NYT thinks we are.
