Hayward's sentence: months of criticism

Nonetheless, the decision by Hayward to return to England to attend JP Morgan's annual race around the Isle of Wight is the latest "PR gaffe" by the head of the oil giant blamed for the largest environmental disaster in U.S. history.

Aw, give a guy a break. This might be one of his last chances to sail his yacht in unpolluted water.

But seriously, he should be in prison, and BP should be under US government control, preparing to use the nuclear option which should have been used months ago. Criticizing him as he sails on his yacht, perhaps celebrating a mission accomplished in proper East India Company style with his fellow colonial administrators (who else would put up with him?), is hardly an acceptable substitute.
