WASHINGTON – Legislation to turn down the volume on those loud TV commercials that send couch potatoes diving for their remote controls looks like it'll soon become law.The Senate unanimously passed a bill late Wednesday to require television stations and cable companies to keep commercials at the same volume as the programs they interrupt.
Well, it's not Glass-Steagal, but at least we'll be less likely to mute TV commercials, so that we'll hear them in the background. This was actually written for advertisers and those that advertise, such as politicians. Civilization might collapse, but until then, people will be more likely to hear commercials on TV.
At least they passed something, and now they can take a well-deserved break and make a few appearances back in the district, in heavily controlled situations (after all, there's a war on, the the peasants are revolting) in the run-up to the rigged election, to give the impression that we're more to them than a bunch of cattle being led to the slaughter. You'll eventually die and get what's coming to you, you bastards.
