Obama's recovery in Iraq

But always -- do not forget this, Winston -- always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- for ever.'
from 1984 by Orwell

Compassion is the vice of kings: STAMP DOWN THE WRETCHED & THE WEAK: this is the law of the strong: this is our law.... ON THE LOW MEN TRAMPLE IN THE FIERCE LUST OF YOUR PRIDE, in the day of your wrath. Ye are against THE PEOPLE, O my chosen! KILL AND TORTURE; SPARE NOT; BE UPON THEM!

DRAG DOWN THEIR SOULS TO AWFUL TORMENT: LAUGH AT THEIR FEAR: SPIT UPON THEM!

There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt.

BAGHDAD – At least 29 people were killed and more than 100 others injured when a pair of bombs exploded almost simultaneously Sunday in Baghdad.

Al Qaeda has repeatedly blown up mobile phone transmission towers around the country, many of them owned by Asiacell. The group also bombed the company’s office in the northern city of Mosul in 2008

People who live near the store said THE STORE HAD BEEN WELL PROTECTED BY BLAST WALLS and by two Iraqi police checkpoints that were on either side of it.

The suicide bomber apparently drove up to a small gap between sections of the blast wall intended as a pedestrian passageway before triggering the explosion, the police said.

The Khadimiya [the other] bombing occurred in a residential neighborhood where an office of the Ministry of National Security was also located, the Iraq police said.
[...]
The police said that the casualties included employees of the ministry, an agency that works in part to prevent insurgent attacks.

“I carried a lot of victims to the ambulance — MANY WERE WOMEN AND CHILDREN,” said Ali Zamil, a police officer. [i.e. the actual targets were the people of Iraq - the claims that the bombs were aimed at the Ministry of National Security (except symbolically) and Asiacell are just cover stories - who is hurt when a cell tower is destroyed?]

The key to the whole case is through the looking glass. Black is white and white is black.
from JFK, the movie

[O'Brien]: You have read the book, Goldstein's book, or parts of it, at least. Did it tell you anything that you did not know already?'

'You have read it?' said Winston.

'I wrote it. That is to say, I collaborated in writing it. No book is produced individually, as you know.'

Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? IT IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery is torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress towards more pain. The old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love or justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement.
from 1984 by George Orwell

The bombers aren't trying to overthrow the Iraqi government - they essentially ARE the Iraqi government. "Al Qaeda" is just the division which does its dirty work. Your tax dollars at work.
