The plus-sized woman has sung

"I would give anything if the unemployment rate were a lot lower," said Romer in a CBS News interview in her office.
But, like the President that made her a top economic advisor, Romer is hopeful and optimistic.

Well, she'd give anything except her life or the lives of her family members, which is probably what was implicitly threatened to get her to recite this big lie on her way out. Perhaps she figured that economists would realize it was a crock, but its purpose was to lull us into a sense of security at least until the economic collapse reaches the point of no return. She might have meant that the bailouts prevented a MERE Great Depression. We're ALREADY in a depression, and now we're headed for a dark age unless that tentacle of the British Empire known as Barack Obama is sent packing. If he is not removed from office, there is no hope for civilization, and there is no way to get around that fact. He will not allow a real solution.
