Last throes of March 2011

Three suicide bombers have attacked a construction company in eastern Afghanistan, killing 24 people and wounding more than 50 others.
KABUL, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan force and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) are preparing for a spring offensive to counter a Taliban-led insurgency in militancy- hit Afghanistan, ISAF spokesman said on Monday.

I understand that the suicide bombers accidentally killed the wrong people. But at least they helped the US to maintain the terror-rhythm: every Afghan citizen feels that they could die at any moment due to some bomb "accidentally" exploding nearby. Yeah, things are much better in Afghanistan since we spent that trillion bucks on the "war." Reconstruction ... oh, wait, that's on hold due to terrorism. Golly - so all we've done, really, is make things worse, bribed officials, and grown massive amounts of opium. Well, at least everyone has plenty of heroin to blunt the pain of living in the hellish world that Dick built.

It's becoming apparent to me that the main reasons these "counter-insurgency [96-9] wars" are said to last about 9 years is that it gets too hard to keep all the lies straight after that, and people start to see the pattern. (Either that, or civilization collapses.) How long will it be before we hear of some fresh atrocity by "Special Forces," i.e. some large, flabby "wizards" which the CIA or JSOC flies in for the "magical powers" season and disguises as Special Forces operatives?
