Obama, the tin-pusher

(Image: Free-trade transportation system meets the ice age.)
According to the AP, after bravely running away from the impending Government shut-down Crisis, President Obama attended a townhall meeting in Pennsylvania. During the course of the rally townhall meeting, he had this to say in response to a man relaying that he could not afford to fill his gas tank:
[...]
“Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices, now averaging close to $3.70 a gallon nationwide, and suggested that the gentleman consider getting rid of his gas-guzzling vehicle.”

“”If you’re complaining about the price of gas and you’re only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know,” Obama said laughingly. “You might want to think about a trade-in.”

Fortunately for him, we can't trade him in, as long as he's useful to Her Majesty, and it looks like he's going to be playing the part of the President, acting as an empty shell of a placeholder for the British Empire in the Oval Office, for another four years or so, or until civilization collapses, whichever comes first.

But this just goes to show what I assume, that these annual gas crises are intended to boost car sales. Imagine that - contrived chaos in Libya as part of the banks' auto-marketing strategy. How many people will die to make their sales look better so that Obama can crow about "the recovery?"

If Obama were a real President, he'd be talking about trading in the "free trade" transportation system that the oligarchy crammed down our throats, for truly efficient maglev systems powered by nuclear-generated electricity. The possibilities are practically endless with a supplementary transportation system that pretty much drives itself in all weather. Of course, we would still need the existing system, but on a much smaller scale, and those who actually enjoy driving, or who would still have to drive, wouldn't have to put up with so many bad or mad drivers.
