Prospect of nuclear decarbonation, without terrorism

Former Assistant Treasury Secretary Paul Craig Roberts continues to be one of the few public commentators who acknowledges the mortal danger of the pending confrontation over Ukraine.
from Latest Warning From Paul Craig Roberts....

There's your real economic report. But thanks to our perpetual victory over terror, we aren't terrified of being vaporized to decarbonate (depopulate) the planet, but just mildly apprehensive.

Miley Cyrus, sex machine

Miley Cyrus has taken the world by storm the past year through controversial acts in all of her performances, music videos and songs. It was obvious that when she would begin her Bangerz tour, it would be anything but PG rated. However, people didn’t realize that it would be X rated and many parents are beginning to become upset with the way in which Cyrus performs during her tour.

One parent left with her daughter, claiming that they left because she felt as though she was subjecting her daughter to a “porn show.”
from Miley Cyrus 'Bangerz' tour creates angry backlash amongst parents

To call Miley Cyrus' performance a "porn show" is an insult to pornography. It strikes me as an intended inducement for her fans to adopt the soulless, excessively casual attitude toward sex which is intended to open their souls to certain beings who are always trying to get into the "basement."

Woody Allen a child molester?

Filmmaker Woody Allen’s integrity — really, his decency and humanity — was called into question on Feb. 1 when Nicholas Kristof, a prominent columnist for the New York Times, published on his blog an open letter from Dylan Farrow, Allen’s 28-year-old adoptive daughter, accusing him of sexually assaulting her when she was 7.
from Is Woody Allen a child molester?

You will never convince me that Woody Allen is a child molester.  I suspect that this charge has more to do with Rosemary's Baby than Manhattan.

Philip Seymour Hoffman: stolen gem

My first exposure to the work of the late great Phillip Seymour Hoffman was through the film Red Dragon, and I immediately recognized him as an exceptional actor, although the other actors in that movie are also excellent. I recently saw Capote for the first time, and felt as if I were watching Capote himself, and not an actor portraying him.

I'm no expert on heroin addiction, but I have read that ascorbic acid, perhaps taken intravenously in the form of sodium ascorbate, allows heroin users to quit using without going though withdrawal, which is a major impediment to getting out of the vicious cycle. (For more on this subject, see The Orthomolecular Treatment Of Drug Addiction: A First Australian Report.) On the other hand, an awareness of an easy means of withdrawing might lead more people to try heroin, so it's a two-edged sword.
