Malaysia 17 (revised)

Very close attention needs to be paid to what went into the decision to route flights over that war zone, knowing that some super-missiles were in play and that those using them might not be qualified.

The Russians of course should not have let such missiles out of their control, and in fact I've seen some indications that a member of Russian intelligence was involved in operating that missile battery. 

The bottom line is that there's plenty of blame to go around, and that no single party is to blame, although it can be seen as an apt symbol for the results intended by those who started the conflict by aligning Ukraine with the EU.
